Reducers code system

Every reducer is uniquely identified by an alphanumeric code describing its main features, and corresponding to the here below described structure.
The symbols in the different positions of the code assume the following meanings:

1. type of reducer (M = gear-motor, i.e. reducer complete of flanged connection for the motor, even if the motor is not within the scope of supply; no symbol in any other case)
2. position of the shafts (C = parallel axis; K = right angle axis)
3. number of reduction stages (1, 2, 3, 4)
4. type of gear train (X = speed increaser; no symbol if speed reducer)
5. direction of the low speed shaft (V = vertical low speed shaft; no symbol in any other case)
6. type of reducer installation (P = shaft mounted, i.e. without baseplate and directly installed on the driven shaft; no symbol in any other case)
7. type of low speed shaft (H = hollow low speed shaft; no symbol in any other case)
8. type of support for the low speed shaft (K = extended support; no symbol in any other case)
9. reducer size (number corresponding to the low speed gear pair center distance, possibly followed by "/ S" whenever the reducer is different from standard for some aspect, i.e. the reduction ratio)
10. nominal reduction ratio
11. construction form (see figure)
12. type of lubrication (A = oil splash; L = forced feed)
13. type of cooling (N = natural; F = with fan on the high speed shaft; C = with cooling coil; E = with external heat exchanger)

C2 - 125 / 8 / 1 / A / N: parallel axis speed reducer, with two reduction stages, size 125, nominal ratio 8, construction form 1, oil splash lubrication and natural cooling.

C1 - 125 / X / 2.8 / 1 / A / N: parallel axis speed increaser, with one gear stage, size 125, nominal ratio 2.8, construction form 1, oil splash lubrication and natural cooling.

C2 - 125 / S / 7.6 / 1 / A / N: parallel axis speed reducer, with two reduction stages, size 125, special ratio 7.6, construction form 1, oil splash lubrication and natural cooling.

K2VK - 250 / 7.1 / 1 / A / F: right angle axis speed reducer, with two reduction stages, vertical low speed shaft with extended support, size 250, nominal ratio 7.1, construction form 1, oil splash lubrication and fan cooling

MK2PH - 250 / 10 / 1 / L / N: right angle axis gear-motor, with two reduction stages, shaft mounted, with hollow low speed shaft, size 250, nominal ratio 10, construction form 1, forced feed lubrication and natural cooling.
